It has emerged that Donald Trump paid €8.7 million for the former Doonbeg golf resort.
The American billionaire purchased the five-star West Clare resort in February of this year, and it had been speculated that the high-profile purchase had cost him up to €15 million.

However, filings with the Companies Office, which are outlined in today's Irish Independent, found that proceeds from the sale amounted to just over €8.7 million.
Trump has already promised to invest tens of millions of euro into the property, now known as Trump International Golf Links and Hotel Ireland.
