OPW To Fund Quilty Flood Study

The Office of Public Works has agreed, in principal, to allocate funding to Clare County Council to carry out a feasibility study for possible flood protection works at Clohaninchy, near Quilty.

The study is expected to cost around 200,000 euro, and consultants will be hired to examine the coastal erosion and flood protection measures that could be carried out in the area.

Works at Clohaninchy have been regarded as one of the highest priority projects in the aftermath of the winter storms, after over a dozen homes there were flooded in January.
