A public meeting is to be held tonight in opposition to the plan for male-only deacons in the Diocese of Killaloe.
What is desribed as an open forum has been organised in light of plans announced by Bishop Kieran O'Reilly, which will see Deacons take on a more prominent role in the Church here.

However, many have said they're upset because women have been told that they cannot apply to take part.
Tonight's meeting takes place at the Inn at Dromoland from 8 o'clock.
