Donald Trump's Doonbeg golf resort is one of 12 objectors to plans for a wind farm just outside the village.
Clare Coastal Wind Power Ltd. are seeking ten-year planning permission to construct nine wind turbines, 126 metres tall, and other associated works on lands at Carrowmeore South, Einagh and Shragh, about 2 kilometres south of Doonbeg village.
However, in a lengthy-submission on its behalf, a firm appointed by Trump International Golf Links Ireland says this would have a significant negative impact on tourism, endangering jobs at the resort and in the surrounding area.
A number of local residents have also opposed the project, along with the Friends of the Irish Environment group.
Clare County Council is to make a decision on the planning application next month.
