The Oireachtas banking inquiry is expected to sign off on its terms of reference today.
It's thought TDs will to agree to an intensive inquiry which would see some public hearings before Christmas.

Those sittings would largely focus on the background to investigation, with key witnesses not expected to appear before April.
The hearings have to be wrapped up by the end of September next year to make sure the inquiry is finished before the next general election is called.
