A Clare restauranteur says a jobs boost as a result of the special rate of VAT can be sustainable – if Ireland is preceived to be good value for money.

Aidan McGrath of the Wild Honey Inn in Lisdoovarna says the 547 positions created in the county as a direct result of the 9 per cent VAT is concrete proof the measure is worthwhile.
The Restaurant Association of Ireland says the annual wage bill in the Accommodation & Food Services sector now stands at over 82 million euro here.
The organisation now wants this to be protected in next month's budget.
Mr McGrath says so far they've received positive soundings on the issue.
