Two more deaths on Irish roads

There's been two more deaths on Irish roads in the past 24 hours.

Gardai in Dublin are investigating the death of a 62 year-old man following a collision -between a car and a pedestrian -on James Street at approximately 2.40am this morning.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the mortuary at St. James Hospital. 

The driver of the car -a 58 year-old man- was taken by ambulance to St James Hospital for treatment for his injuries which are believed to be minor.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in county Cork yesterday evening, a 19 year-old man has died following a two-car collision on the Refinery Road at Corkbeg in Whitegate just after 6.30pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken the mortuary at Cork University Hospital. 

The driver of the second car -a 21 year-old man- was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment for non life threatening injuries.

Investigations into both incidents are continuing and gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact Kilmainham and Midleton Garda Stations.
