A young American man – kidnapped in Syria last October – is the latest hostage threatened with execution by Islamic State militants.
Abdul-Rahman Kassig, formerly known as Peter, appeared at the end of the video clip of the beheading of British aid worker Alan Henning, which was posted online last night by the extremist group.

The 26 year old former US soldier, was deployed to Iraq in 2007, but became an aid worker in Syria, after he was honourably discharged.
His parents Ed and Paula have issued a video this evening – begging his captors to release him.
