Nurses Disappointed At Minister’s Response To UHL Concerns

The Health Minister says budget over-runs at University Hospital Limerick hamper its case for further investment.

Leo Varadkar has addressed overcrowding and overspending at the region's main hospital during a Dáil debate, and heard calls for a new temporary unit at Dooradoyle.

However, instead of giving the green-light to the much-mooted project, the Minister said he was ‘disturbed’ at the budgetary overrun at UHL.

The INMO says the Minister has not acknowledged deficits in the hospital, and say his comments are a disappointment to patients here.
