Irish Army ‘Can Do More’ In Ebola Fight

A Clareman working in West Africa to help the thousands of people there infected by Ebola says the Irish army can play a key role in halting the spread of the virus.

Reports suggest that Defence Minister Simon Coveney has raised the possibility of sending Irish troops to the area, but that this was shot down by some of his cabinet colleagues.

Ireland has contributed €2.5 million to help in the response to Ebola, but speaking from Senegal where he is working with Plan Ireland, Inagh native Damien Queally thinks the country can do more.
