Gardai say just under 1,000 people have taken part in an anti-water charges demonstration in Ennis this afternoon.
Crowds gathered at O'Connell Monument before marching around the town in protest against Irish Water, and the imposition of domestc water charges.

In speeches, organisers argued the charge was a step too far for many people who would be unable to pay.
