Community Playgrounds in Clare are to benefit from a new 50,000 euro support fund.
With 29 play facilities in various communities around the county, members of Clare County Council have expressed concerns that many incur costs of up to 3,000 euro per year for insurance, maintenances and safety auditing.

Calls have been made to fund new facilities and disabled access at local playgrounds, but in the meantime the council has approved a fund of 50,000 euro for this year and next.
