A Clare Senator says he was surprised by reports of his departure from Fine Gael.
Ennistymon Senator Martin Conway has denied he's planning to leave the party in favour of the new political grouping led by Luicinda Creighton.

Mr Conway has been critical of the Government's handling of several issues in recent months, however speaking to Clare FM he says he fully expects to contest the next general election under the banner of Fine Gael.
Senator Conway says he has not discussed moving parties with Luicinda Creighton.
