High Winds At Dublin See Flights Diverted To Shannon

Up to 10 flights were diverted to Shannon Airport last night, after operations were suspended at Dublin Airport due to high winds.

Arrivals and departures were stopped in Dublin for around an hour after 10 o'clock, forcing nearly 1,00 passengers to make an unscheduled visit to Clare.

Many were flown or bussed back to Dublin after conditions eased, though Dublin Airport says there is some minor disruption to flights this morning as a result.

Weather warnings had been in place, but these have now been lifted, although drivers are still urged to take extra care with strong winds in places.
