Clare motorists are being urged to drive with caution as wintry showers lead to dangerous driving conditions throughout the county this morning.
A section of the M18 motorway was closed following a multi-vehicle crash on the southbound carriageway between Crusheen and Barefield.
Gardaí from Ennis, ambulance and fire personnel are at the scene but it's understood there were no serious injuries.
Conditions were also reported as bad between Ennis and Connolly, and between Lissycasey and Ballynacally while Gardaí have dealt with a crash near Kilchreest on the road between Loughrea and Gort.
A Met Eireann Status Orange snow/ice alert is in place until tomorrow morning, and forecasters say there will be wintry, thundry showers of hail, sleet and snow.
