American company Amax has unveiled its new European headquarters in Shannon.
The firm which manufactures racks and servers for the cloud computing industry plans to create 100 new jobs at the Clare facility over the course of the next five years.
Initially 40 employees will be hired – with production to begin on site tomorrow.
The Minister for Small Businness Ged Nash has welcomed the decision and has promised regional balance in the government's jobs creation strategy.
Matthew Thauberger Senior Director of Sales at Amax says his firm has choosen Shannon as a base because of the availability of a skilled workforce, the ease of access through Shannon Airport and the good quality of life available in the Midwest.
