The wording of the referendum on same-sex marriage is due to be agreed today.
The Cabinet is holding a special meeting to approve the text, which will be published later in the week.

Meanwhile the government has again confirmed that it plans to give gay couples the right to adopt children, and to provide for legal recognition between a person's biological children and their own same-sex partner, before the referendum is held.
