Nearly 50 people were rescued by Clare's RNLI crews last year.
Figures released by the organisation show that 43 people were taken ashore by volunteers with the Lough Derg unit, who made 18 launches last year, while 5 people were rescued during six launches by the Kilrush RNLI.

Nationally, there was a 10% increase in the number of people brought to safety by RNLI crews, which launched over 1,000 times.
