A former Mayor of Clare says people in Ennis are living in fear of criminals.
Garda statistics show there was an average of almost one burglary in Clare each day last year, while officers have also reported a number of burglaries in Ennis already this year.

One of those saw a house ransacked in the Gallows Hill area last Friday, close to the home of Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Daly.
He thinks government attention is needed, and has called for CCTV cameras to be installed in every estate, or for grants to be made available towards house alarms.
