An Ennis based businness person has accused Clare County Council of taking the easy way out when it comes to tackling parking issues in the town.
Jean McCabe of Willow Fashion Boutique has welcomed moves by all Ennis Municipal Area councillors to reduce parking charges by 30 cent to 1 euro an hour.
However the local authority says it doesn't have room in the budget for it, this year.
The parking fee currently stands at 1 euro 30 per hour and local representatives would like to see that cut to 1 euro, but they've been told the County's budget doesn't have room for the move this year.
Director of Services at Clare County Council Ger Dollard says the reduction would have a knock on effect on other services across the county, because of the significant amount of revenue brought in through Parking Charges:

The council is set to examine the entire issue over the coming months, with suggestions that the cut in the parking charge could come in for 2016.
