A young Kilrush couple charged in connection with the alleged blackmail and false imprisonment of a pensioner have been sent forward for trial.
25 year old Jonathan Kenny of Elm Drive, Kilrush and his girlfriend, 19 year old Marie Linnane of Griffin Rd, Kilrush both appeared in Ennis District Court yesterday.

There are accused of the alleged blackmail and false imprisonment of 65-year old Paddy Quane at his Kilrush home on two separate dates last November.
Both are charged with the false imprisonment of the retired fisherman in the west Clare town of Kilrush on November 14th and November 19th last.
Judge Patrick Durcan sent them forward for trial at Ennis Circuit Court next Tuesday.
