Figures obtained by a Fine Gael Senator, show that more than 2 million euro worth of Emergency Department hospital bills are outstanding from 2013.
9.2 million euro in charges were due the the HSE for emergency department treatment in 2013, but only 7 million was collected.

But this 7 million euro figure also includes late payments from 2012, which could mean that the figure for outstanding payments from 2013 is even higher.
