The body of 37-year-old Peter Murphy was found after a neighbour noticed a window broken at the house he was renting in Shanavoher near Mallow.

The landlord was contacted and he came across Mr Murphy's body which was found with injuries in the sitting room of the house.

Gardaí were notified and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
