Gardaí are investigating the suspicious death of a 37-year-old man in North Cork.
Peter Murphy was found with injuries at a rented house near Mallow on Saturday afternoon.
He was later pronounced dead at the scene – and Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The body of 37-year-old Peter Murphy was found after a neighbour noticed a window broken at the house he was renting in Shanavoher near Mallow.
The landlord was contacted and he came across Mr Murphy's body which was found with injuries in the sitting room of the house.
Gardaí were notified and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to Cork University Hospital, where the Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster carried out a post mortem yesterday.
A forensic investigation of the house is now underway, and Gardaí are trying to trace his last known movements.
They're appealing to anyone who may have seen Peter Murphy or heard from him between Thursday afternoon and Saturday to come forward.
