Councillors have been told that out of 43 impacted sites, 15 have been fully restored while further work is still required at 28 locations inluding Kilkee where long awaired repairs are to commence next week.

With the total damage caused by Storms Christine and Brigid estimated at 36.8 million euro just 17.6 million has been allocated by the government for repairs already completed and ongoing works in areas like Liscannor, Whitestrand and Kilbaha.

But the Council's engineer Tom Tiernan says they haven't given up hope of further money.
