There are now less than 400 farmers under the age of 35 in County Clare.
Teagasc says the low per cent of young people choosing the agriculture sector for their careers is of serious concern.

In total there are 6,000 farmers in the county 2,000 of which receive support from the advisory body.
Area Manager with Teagasc for this regiona Brendan Heneghan says young people should know there are incentives to encourage them to become farmers.
