Irish Water is to be asked to address a public meeting of Clare County Council once more but deep divisions have emerged over how local respresentatives are engaging with the controversial company.
Though a majority of Councillors supported a Fianna Fail motion calling for Irish Water to attend meetings in public and in front of the media, most councillors voted against a boycott on the current system of private briefings with council districts.

There were heated exchanges on the issue at last evening's meeting in Ennis, and while Meelick Councillor Cathal Crowe expressed disappointment at divisions within his own party over his stance, he insisted he'll continue to boycott private sessions with Irish Water.
