An elderly couple in Ennistymon will not lose their home under plans to address traffic congestion at Blake's Corner.
Clare County Council says their home of Judith and Peter O'Donoghue has been removed from the plans, as an alternative has been identified.
Local people say they're disappointed though that the authority is pushing ahead with its plans for a new road in the town and not offering alternatives.
However the body disagrees, in a statement to Clare FM Clare County Council says, the variants of different options have been presented to the Committee representing residents.
Judith and Peter O'Donoghue say they have yet to receive confirmation that they can keep their home in writing.
Their nephew Pat Lynch says the issue is causing a great deal of upset for the elderly couple.
