New figures published by the Central Bank show 12% of mortgages holders here are behind on their payments.

While this figure is lower in some other counties, the rates of arrears are higher in the border and midlands regions.
The Central Bank report also outlines how there has been a rise in the number of people throughout the country who have been in arrears for two years or more.
