A woman in her 70s has died in a housefire at Hurler's Cross near Shannon.
The alarm was raised at around 1:30 this morning, when the fire was spotted by a motorist on the nearby N18 dual carraigeway.

Gardaí, ambulance personnel and two units of the fire service from Shannon attended the scene, and the woman's body was discovered inside the property.
Gardaí are treating the incident as a tragic accident.
