The Fair Deal scheme is being criticised for not providing good value care for older people.
Age Action Ireland, says that although older people are paying 80 percent of their disposable income towards the scheme, as well as charge on their total assets, important treatments and facilities are not being covered.

It comes as a review of the Fair Deal scheme was released on the cost and management of nursing home care.
