Fianna Fáil says it welcomes the government "waking up to the Property Tax time bomb".
The Tánaiste said yesterday a cap on the charge is being considered by the coalition in order to prevent a surge in the cost of the charge after 2016.

The three year freeze will expire next year meaning all values will be re-evaluated.
Fianna Fáil Finance spokesperson Michael McGrath says householders need clarity, and if action isn't taken the bills could be substantial.
