The Health Service ran almost €25 million euro over budget in January.
The figure comes from the HSE's first Performance Review of 2015 – which blames the figure on an "exceptional level" of delayed discharges.

Around €1.2 million of the overspend came at University Hospital Limerick, though Ennis General was within spending limits.
