McNamara Backed for Another Year in Charge

Clare hurling Boss Mike McNamara has received the full backing of the Clare County Board following their October meeting

McNamara has called for an end to what he described as the "media circus " surrounding hurling in the county

The Banner boss unexpectedly spoke at last night’s meeting in Ennis following days of speculation over his future in charge of the county senior set up.

The Scariff man told the assembled club delegates his only interest was improving the standard of Clare hurling for 2010

Talks between the hurling  management, the Co. Board and the players are due to be held before the next county board meeting in 2 weeks time where it’s expected McNamara will be ratified as county boss for one more year.

The Clare county board has reiterated its support for county hurling boss Mike McNamara following its October meeting.

The under fire boss spoke to the assembled club delegates at the meeting in which he called for an end to what he described as "the media circus" now surrounding the game in the county..

The manager also said that it is time to get rid the clicks and those with agendas in hurling in the county and Clare will hurling will be better and stronger at the end of the current dispute.

Co Board chairman Michael O’Neill says the current dispute is all about taking responsibility

The next meeting in 2 weeks time will is set to ratify a new football boss as well as the current hurling management.
