Gilligan reject offer of Intercounty Return

It’s widely reported today that Niall Gilligan has called time on his Clare Inter County career.

The Sixmilebridge Club man was absent from Monday night’s training session under new manager Ger Sparrow O Loughlin and according to reports today Gilligan says that after 13 years of playing with the Banner county he “had reached the end of the line”.

The 33 year old was the last remaining link with the All Ireland winning side of 1997. Alan Markham, the second longest serving player only joined the squad in 1998.
