Kilmurray Ibrickane have qualified for the All Ireland club football semi final after a 1-4 to 3 point win over Tir Chonaill Gaels today in Ruislip.
In a game played in heavy under foot conditions Kilmurray led at half time by 3 points to 2, with Noel Downes,Johnny Daly and Ian Mc Inerney on the scoresheet
The opening score of the second half came after sixteen minutes when Johnny Daly latched onto a free from Ian Mc Inerney which was knocked down into his path and he drove the ball to the net to give the Clare men a 4 point lead.
Peter O Dwyer then added to the KIB total before Kevin Mc Menamin scored the Exiles third point of the game with 2 minutes to go.
The London champions ended with 14 men after Niall Quinn was sent off at the beginning of the second period.
They now have 4 weeks to prepare to take on the Lenister champions Portlaoise on the 21st of Feburary.
Elsewhere and NUIG have won their first ever game in the Walsh cup thanks in no small part to the 10 Clare men who lined out for the colleges side today.
They defeated Carlow by 1-17 to 1-8 with Donal Tuohy, in goals,and an all Clare full back line made up of Diarmuid Nash,Paul Nihil and Noel Casey .
Also involved were Donal O Donovan and Pa Kelly in the wing back slots and John Conlon who scored 5 of his sides points from half forward along with Kevin Heagney and David Barrett.
David Reidy from Wolfe Tones as well as Niall Keane from Ballyea were 2nd half subs
And Scoil Mhuire Ennistymon are playing Hospital from Limerick in the senior b ladies football secondary schools Munster semi final tomorrow in Clarecastle at 12-30.
