Meanwhile at Croke Park yesterday Tipperary beat Galway by the narrowest of margins, 3-17 to 3-16 in the second of the days All Ireland Senior Hurling quarter finals and Cork booked their place in the other semi final after seeing off Antrim by 1-25 to 0-19.
