Clarecastle are through to the last 8 of the county senior hurling championship following a 17 points to 9 win over Scariff last evening in Sixmilebridge.
However Kilmaley’s fate is out of their hands despite a 1-18 to 2-9 win over Broadford in Cusack Park.
Last years semi finalists are on 5 points,the same as Clooney Quinn,who play Clarecastle in their final group game
If Clooney lose then it will come down to score difference between themselves and Kilmaley to decide who will take the other group two spot in the q-finals with the east Clare outfit currently ahead of Kilmaley
Speaking to Clare FM in the aftermath of last nights win Kilmaley manger John Carmody feels its a very unfair system.
There was also one game in the Junior B Hurling Championship as Crusheen defeated Inagh Kilnamona by 4-16 to 2 points.
