Clare schools begin Harty Cup challenge

Two Clare schools competing in this year’s Harty Cup will begin their title challenges today.

The competition opens with the group stage, and both schools will need to finish in the top two of their respective pools if they’re to reach the Quarter Finals.

St Flannan’s have been drawn in the so-called ‘group’ of death alongside Thurles CBS, De La Salle Waterford and their opponents today, Blackwater College.

The game takes place in Bansha at 2:00.

Trainer John Minogue says a win today is a must for his team

Meanwhile St Caiman’s have been drawn in Group B of the Harty Cup alongside Our Lady’s Templemore, Charleville CBS and Coláiste Chríost Rí of Cork, their opponents today

The match in Ballyagran gets underway at 2:30.
