Doyle ruled out of Slovakia clash

Kevin Doyle has been ruled-out of Ireland’s crucial Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovakia. The Wolves striker has been sent back to his club for further treatment on the knee injury that he suffered during the second-half of Friday’s defeat to Russia at the Aviva Stadium. Shane Long and Andy Keogh are the contenders to replace Doyle for Tuesday night. In golf, Martin Kaymer won the Dunhill Links Championship to extend his lead in the Race to Dubai standings. The German claimed his third consecutive tournament victory after finishing on 17 under par at St Andrews. England’s Danny Willett was his the closest challenger on 14-under. Lee Westwood hopes of overtaking Tiger Woods as world number one ended in disappointment – he carded a one-over par 73 to finish on seven under. Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell both ended-up on six under par.
