Ireland secured their first victory in the Autumn International series after a 20-10 victory over Samoa at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin today. An early Jamie Heaslip try gave the hosts the perfect start, before the visitors fought back to within three points in the second-half following an earlier Alesana Tuilgai try.
The win was secured for Ireland when Ronan O’Gara crossed over and converted with 15 minutes remaining against the run of play. It was a confidence boosting victory for Declan Kidney’s side, but questions will be asked once again regarding the overall performance.
