Clare’s pre season preparations came to a shuddering halt in Sixmilebridge in the Waterford Crystal cup as they let an 11 point lead slip to allow Waterford claim a place in the competitions final by 2-19 to 2-18.
Clare led at the break by 2-12 to 0-7 but were outscored in the second period by the Munster champions to end January on a disappointing note.

The win for Waterford sets them up with a final meeting against Cork next weekend after the Rebels overcame UL by 1-18 to 2-12.
