O’Loughlin criticises referee performance in 1 point win over Antrim

 

Clare senior hurling manager Ger O’Loughlin has slammed the performance of referee Eamon Hassen during Clare’s one point win over Antrim in Casement park.

The visitors  were made to work hard for their victory as they ended the game with 14 men following James McInerney’s second half dismissal for two yellow cards with O’Loughlin confronting the Derry official after the full time whistle.

The Banner boss told  Clare FM Hassan was affectively a 16th man for the home side:

The win puts Clare back in the hunt for a place in the league final after last week’s disappointing loss to Limerick.

The former All Ireland winner also felt the win was important but that there was room for serious improvement

Despite the win Clare are second from bottom in Division two on points difference while Limerick are top after their victory over Westmeath on Saturday.

Elsewhere

Kilkenny came out on-top of Cork in the latest instalment of their hurling rivalry.

Richie Hogan pointed an injury-time free that helped the Cats to a dramatic 14 points to 1-10 win in their Division One clash in the at Nowlan Park.

Also in Division One, Waterford beat Wexford by 1-11 to 0-12 while Galway defeated Offaly by 1-24 to 10 points.
