McDermott again critical of refereeing standards after Carlow loss

Clare football manager Michael McDermott has once again criticised the standard of refereeing in Divison four of the national football league following his sides 1-11 to 1-10 loss to Carlow.

For the second time this campaign Clare  ended the game with 13 men after the dismissals of John Hayes and Mark Tubridy in off the ball incidents with no Carlow player seeing red.

Clare now sit three places off the foot of Division four with London below them only on scoring difference while Kilkenny prop up the table.

The Cavan native felt his side had once more been on the wrong side of refereeing decisions during their loss:

In Division 1 of the Allianz Football League Cork defeated Monaghan 1-15 to 1-12, while Mayo beat Galway 2-14 to 12 points.

In Division 2 it Laois beat Derry 1-21 to 1-7; Donegal drew with Kildare 8 points to 1-5 and Tyrone beat Sligo 2-15 to 15 points.
