Clare beat Down to move into second in the table

 

Clare defeated Down 5-22 to 0-6 in Division 2 of the National hurling league at Cusack Park to move up to 2nd in the table.

Clare led 2-12 to 0-2 at half-time with first half goals from Caimin Morey and Colin Ryan.

Down had two players sent off either side of the interval and Ryan scored his second goal of the game, in addition to two late goals from Diarmuid McMahon, to round off the victory.

Staying with  Division 2 Antrim beat Carlow by 10 points to 1 goal and 6points.

And Limerick beat Laois by 1goal and 18points to 16points

In the Allianz Hurling League Division One, Galway beat Kilkenny. In a thrilling match Galway scored 4 goals and 14 points to 3 goals and 13 points for Brian Coady’s men.

All-Ireland Champions Tipperary hammered Offaly by 1 goal and 20 points to 10 points.

Waterford secured a narrow victory against Munster rivals Cork by 18points to 17.

And Dublin’s good league campaign continued as they beat Wexford by 3 goals and 21points to 2 goals and 15points.
