All-Ireland champions Tipperary served notice on the rest of the sides in this year’s hurling championship after a stunning victory over league champions Galway at Pearse Stadium by 4-23 to 1-14 which has blown the race for the Division One final in the Allianz Hurling League, wide-open.
The Cork hurlers failed to take advantage of Galway’s slip-up as they were beaten by 1-16 to 1-15 by Wexford.
Also in Division One, Waterford defeated Offaly by 2-19 to 1-19 at O’Connor Park.
In Division Two, there were comfortable wins for Limerick and Antrim over Kerry and Down respectively which means Limerick are through to the League final in 4 weeks time.
Clare need to beat Carlow in their final game to secure their passage to the decider after their 3-16 to 3-13 loss on Saturday to Laois.
