Starting with football news and the Clare senior side have completed their Division four league campaign with a draw against Wicklow in Aughrim on a scoreline of 20 points to 1-17.
Clare led at the break and scored a total of 15 points from play but were undone by a late Leighton Gylnn goal which wasn’t enough to gain them promotion.
Elsewhere:
Dublin and Cork will contest the Division One final in this year’s Allianz Football League.
Cork booked their place after a 2-15 to 1-12 win over Armagh at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
14-man Dublin maintained their unbeaten record in the league after holding-out for a draw against Galway at Pearse Stadium – but that point wasn’t enough to save the Tribesmen from relegation to Division Two.
Monaghan were also demoted – despite a 1-18 to 2-13 win over Mayo.
Kerry finished their league campaign with a 1-13 to 1-11 win over Down.
