Ruan motion passed at Congress and Inter pro series to be revived

GAA congress:

The Gaa’s annual  congress in Mullingar has decided to hand a lifeline to the inter pro series with with delegates last night voting to run the games on a trial basis from next year.

The Clare sponsered series havn’t been played since 2009 and there had been calls for the games to be scrapped. but
following representations from Martin Donnelly and former chair of the Munster council Noel Walsh, the series will now be revived for at least another eyar.

A group is to  be set up to look at how best to promote the series.

 

Also at congress a motion from Ruan has been passed which means the end of the ban on officers re-applying for positons within the gaa after they have stepped down.

The motion, which sought to allow officers apply for a positon they previously held after a lapse of 5 years was passed by the required two thirds  majority earlier today
However the motion from Miltown malbay looking for the term "county commitee" be repalced by "County board" was defeated.
