Leinster stage remarkable comeback to win European cup

Leinster have beaten Northampton Saints by 33 points to 22 to claim their second Heineken Cup,

after one of the great comebacks in the history of the competition.

Tries from Phil Dowson, Ben Foden and Dylan Hartley had put the Saints ahead by 22 points to 6 after dominating the first half.

However Leinster were in front just 16 minutes after the break, thanks in no small part to man-of-the-match Johnny Sexton.

The outhalf scored and converted two tries in less than ten minutes and added two more penalties to his two in the first half,

bringing his and Leinster’s score to 26 points with 20 minutes to play.

A Nathan Hynes try extended their lead to 11 points with 15 minutes to play,

as Leinster held Northampton scoreless for the entire 2nd half.
