Kerry have sent-out a warning to the rest of the contenders for this year’s All-Ireland championship after an impressive three-point win over arch-rivals Cork in Killarney.
The Kingdom claimed yet another Munster football title after a 1-15 (pr: one-15) to 1-12 (pr: one-12) victory.
Darran O’Sullivan’s goal had helped the home side into an eight-point half-time lead, but Donncha O’Connor’s late penalty set-up a dramatic finish.
Kingdom manager Jack O’Connor admitted afterwards that his team had been lucky to hold-out after a determined fight-back from the Rebels, which was only snuffed out in stoppage time when Kerry tacked-on two late points.
