Avenue United B into Cup final after penalty drama

 Avenue Utd B are into the Prego menswear Clare cup final after a 4-3 penalties win over Ennis Town rock.

The first division side fought back from 1-0 down at the break to set up extra time which failed to seperate the sides with the b outfit emerging winners 4-3 on spotkicks

Ennis town Rock scored the opener after just before half time with a strike  from Shane Daniels from 12 yards and  Avenue’s equaliser came just after the hour mark after David Considine’s spectacular overheadkick went straight to the net.

Incredibly Avenue missed the opening two penalities in the shootout with Jack Wall scoring the decisive spotkick after crucial saves from keeper Cillian Culligan.

They will now  meet the winners of the other semi-final tie between Newmarket Celtic  and
Bridge  Utd which goes ahead at the County Grounds tomorrow with a 2.30pm kick-off
